{"id":849,"date":"2008-05-28T23:19:49","date_gmt":"2008-05-28T12:19:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rocor.org.au\/news10\/?p=849"},"modified":"2009-12-23T15:37:17","modified_gmt":"2009-12-23T04:37:17","slug":"on-the-90th-anniversary-of-the-royal-martyrs-essay-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rocor.org.au\/news10\/?p=849","title":{"rendered":"On the 90th Anniversary of the Royal Martyrs &#8211; Essay Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"left\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rocor.org.au\/news10\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/royal_martyrs_russia.jpg\" \/>Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia<br \/>\nDiocese of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">During 2008 Russian people in the homeland and in the diaspora will be commemorating the<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>90th anniversary<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>of the martyrdom on July 4\/17, 1918 of Tsar Nicholas II, his family and their faithful servants at Ekaterinburg and the martyrdom the next day July 5\/18, 1918 of the Grand Duchess Elizabeth and her companions at Alapaeyevsk.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion,<br \/>\nthe Diocese of Australia and New Zealand is appealing to its youth to participate in an essay competition about the Royal Martyrs.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">The competition will be held in three categories:<br \/>\n<em>Ages 11-13 (300 words max.)<br \/>\nAges 14-17 (500 words min.)<br \/>\nAges 18-25 (1000 words min.)<\/em>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">There will be three prizes in each category (prizes to be announced)<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Choose <em><strong>one<\/strong><\/em> of the following topics:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">1. The Romanov Royal Family, an example of service for faith and fatherland.<br \/>\n2. The Romanov Royal Family as an example of an Orthodox Christian family.<br \/>\n3. The Tsarevich Alexis as a model for children and teenagers.<br \/>\n4. The personal lives of the Grand Duchesses Olga, Maria, Tatiana and Anastasia.<br \/>\n5. The social work of the Grand Duchess Elizabeth.<br \/>\n6.
