В воскресенье 6 мая в, день памяти святого великомученника и победоносца Георгия, Первоиерарх Русской Зарубежной Церкви Его Высокопреосвященство Митропополит Иларион возглавил Божественную Литургию в Свято-Георгиевском храме в Карлтоне города Сидней. Первыми Его Высокопреосвященство встречали дети и староста прихода Елена Сальникова с хлебом, солью.

Первоиерарху сослужили настоятель Свято-Георгиевского храма иерей Александр Корженевский, митрофорный протоиерей Михаил Ли, иерей Теймураз, иеромонах Иоанн Макферсон, иерей Давид Ллойд и диакон Константин Мошегов. (more…)

On Friday 18 November 2011 the Holy Kursk-Root Icon was brought to the Saint George Church in Carlton.

Abbot Kosmas led the celebration of the Supplicatory Canon (Moleben) to the Holy Theotokos and the Blessing of the Five Loaves. A short sermon followed along with the veneration of the Holy Icon and the distribution of the blessed loaves and a print of the icon. Afterwards an Akathist to the Kursk-Root Icon was served in English for those who wished to stay. (more…)

8:00pm: A short sermon will be given by Father Kosmas in the Church.

8:30pm: An Akathist to the Kursk-Root Icon will be served in English for those who wish to stay.

A Talk by Priestmonk Kosmas, Do the Dead Need Our Help or Do We Need Theirs?  will be held in the hall of the parish of  St George Church, Carlton, at 6pm. A memorial Pannikhida (commemoration service for the departed), will be sung in English beforehand at 4.45pm.  The faithful will have an opportunity to submit the names of their reposed Orthodox relatives and friends.
