: His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion celebrated Divine Liturgy on the Feast Day of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in “Novoye Shamordino” Convent

11kentlyn16_007_jpgOn Friday, November 4, 2016, the feast day of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God (marking the day the Poles were evicted from Moscow in 1612), His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, celebrated Divine Liturgy at Our Lady of Kazan Convent (also known as “Novoye Shamordino”) in Kentlyn (Sydney), NSW, Australia.

His Eminence was joined by His Eminence Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal and Canada; His Grace Siluan, Ruling Bishop of the Serbian Orthodox Parishes in Australia and New Zealand; His Grace Bishop George of Canberra, Vicar of the Diocese of Australia and New Zealand, as well as clergymen of the Sydney Deanery of the diocese.

Praying at the service were Abbess Maria (Miros) of Kazan Convent; Abbess Anna (Karipoff) of Presentation of the Mother of God Convent in Bungarby, NSW, along with visiting clergy and a multitude of pilgrims.

After the service, a moleben and procession of the cross around the church were performed, after which the convent’s nuns offered a celebratory trapeza luncheon for the archpastors and worshipers.
