On Sunday, 27 November 2016, the feast day of Holy Apostle Philip, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion, Archbishop of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand celebrated the Divine Liturgy at Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral, Strathfield. His Eminence was joined by His Grace Bishop George of Canberra, Vicar and Administrator of the Australian and New Zealand Diocese, the Cathedral dean, Archpriest George Lapardin and the Cathedral Protodeacons Alexander Kotlaroff and Constantine Moshegov.

During the Sixth Hour, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion tonsured Nektary Kotlaroff a reader. (more…)

On Saturday the 13th and Sunday the 14th of August 2016, His Grace Bishop George served the All-Night Vigil and Divine Liturgy for the feast of the Procession of the Honourable Wood of the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord at Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral Strathfield NSW.

Following the Divine Liturgy, His Grace performed the Lesser Blessing of the Waters as it is practiced in the Russian Orthodox Church. Because of the Blessing of Waters, this first Feast of the Savior in August is sometimes called ‘Savior of the Water’. New gathered honey may also be blessed on this day, which is why the Feast is also called ‘Savior of the Honey’. (more…)

On Monday the 11th and Tuesday 12th July 2016, the feast day of Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, divine services were held in the Diocesan Cathedral, Strathfield NSW in honour of the parish’s feast day.

The All-Night Vigil was led by His Grace Bishop George of Canberra joined by Archpriest George Lapardin Dean, Saints Peter and Paul Diocesan Cathedral (Strathfield, NSW), Archpriest Nikolai Cleric, Serbian Orthodox Church, Priest James Carles Rector, Saint Panteleimon Church (Gosford, NSW), Priest Dionisy Halim Cleric, Saint John the Baptist Skete (Kentlyn, NSW), Hieromonk Philip (Balingit), together with Saints Peter and Paul Diocesan Cathedral deacons, Alexander Kotlaroff, Constantine Moshegov and Michael Storozhev. В Сиднее состоялся очередной благотворительный концерт молодых исполнителей. Два года подряд такие музыкальные праздники проходили в общественном зале при Петропавловском соборе в Стратфилде. В этом году зал собора перестраивается и участников концерта радушно принял Русский клуб. (more…)

On May 10, 2016, the feast of Radonitsa, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilaron, The First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad paid an archpastoral visit to Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY USA.

During the reading of the Hours, Metropolitan Hilarion tonsured seminarian from the Australian and New Zealand Diocese Michael Storozhev a reader and ordained him a subdeacon. Following the Eucharistic Canon, subdeacon Michael was ordained to the diaconate.

Deacon Michael is assigned to Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral, Strathfield where he will fulfil his diaconate duties. (more…)

Ночь на Пасху в этом году выдалась в Сиднее особенно теплая и тихая. В 11 вечера термометр еще показывал 22 градуса. Кажется природа радуется вместе с тысячей православных людей, собравшихся в Петропавловском соборе и возле него в эту Пасхальную ночь на праздничную службу. Возглавил её епископ Канберрский Георгий, ему сослужили ключарь собора, протоиерей Георгий Лапардин и протодиакон Александр Котляров. (more…)

На 3-й неделе Великого поста, Преосвященнейший Георгий Епископ Канберрский совершил Богослужения в Петропавловском Кафедральном соборе в г. Стратфильде. Его Преосвященству сослужили ключарь собора прот. Георгий Лапардин и соборный протодиакон Александр Котляров.

По окончании Божественной Литургии, Владыко Георгий освятил землю для пристройки нового прицерковного зала. (more…)

20-го марта 2016г., в день Торжество Православия, Епископ Канберрский Георгий совершил Божественную Литургию и Чин Православия.
