На своем телефонном совещании 16 марта в 10 часов вечера по нью-йоркскому времени под председательством Первого Заместителя Председателя Архиерейского Синода архиепископа Сиднейского и Австралийско-Новозеландского Илариона Постоянные члены Архиерейского Синода Русской Зарубежной Церкви с глубокой скорьбю констатировали, что 16 марта, в день Торжества Православия, в своей монастырской резиденции при Свято-Троицкой обители в Джорданвилле мирно почил о Господе Высокопреосвященнейший Лавр, митрополит Восточно-Американский и Нью-Йоркский, Первоиерарх Русской Зарубежной Церкви. His Grace Archbishop Hilarion will serve a pannihida for our newly reposed First Hierarch, His Eminence, Metropolitan Laurus at Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral, Strathfield, tonight at 7pm, Monday, 17 March 2008.

Eternal Memory!
The fifth First Hierarch of ROCOR Metropolitan Laurus peacefully reposed in the Lord on the first Sunday of Great Lent – the Triumph of Orthodoxy. The funeral, God willing, will be held towards the end of this week, in all likelihood on Friday 21 March 2008.
Archbishop Hilarion is planning to arrive in the USA for the funeral on Thursday 20 March.
28 Feb 08: Memory Eternal – Father Gregory Momongan
Please pray for the soul of Father Gregory Momongan, a priest of the Indonesian Deanery of the Sydney , Australia and New Zealand Diocese, Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. Father Gregory reposed in the Lord Thursday, February 21, at 11:30 pm local time. Father Gregory was priest in charge of St Mary the Theotokos (Nativity of the Theotokos) Orthodox Church, Manado City in North Sulawesi Province, Indonesia.
Father Gregory was hit by a truck on Wednesday February 20, a victim of a hit and run accident, while operating his motorcycle, which he used as a taxi in downtown Manado City . He had a mechanical problem with his motorcycle and pulled over to the side of the road where he was hit by a speeding truck that was attempting to overtake another vehicle. People who rushed to Father’s aid were able to contact his family from the information of a billing statement which they found in his pocket. (more…)

Glory be to God! God’s Providence manifests itself even in the most distant corners of the world! An example of this is New Zealand – a land separated from the rest of the world by many thousands of kilometres.
Today, February 11/24 2008, the Sunday of the Prodigal Son, His Eminence Hilarion, Archbishop of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand, ordained Deacon Eugene Kulanov, a clergyman of the Holy Resurrection parish in Auckland, to the Priesthood. In the history of the Russian Orthodox Church this is the first time this Sacrament has been performed in New Zealand. (more…)

ORTHODOX ACTION – SYDNEY is a much respected charitable organisation of our Australian ROCOR Diocese under the patronage of St John of Shanghai and San Francisco. With the blessing of His Grace Archbishop Hilarion its main aim is to raise funds to support orphaned and abandoned children and the needy in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.
As part of its fundraising activities for 2008 the Executive Committee of Orthodox Action – Sydney invites all members of our Diocese in Sydney to attend their 7th Charity Concert
