: His Grace George Bishop of Canberra Celebrates the Feast Day of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul at the Cathedral in Strathfield

On Tuesday the 11th and Wednesday 12th July 2017, the feast day of Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, divine services were held in the Diocesan Cathedral, Strathfield in honour of the parish’s feast day. The All-Night Vigil was led by His Grace Bishop George of Canberra joined by the Cathedral clergy and clergy from the neighbouring parishes.

The following day, the Lessor Blessing of the Waters was performed by Archpriest James Carles and Deacon Michael Storozhev. At 9am the clergy greeted His Grace Bishop George. During the Small Entrance, Bishop George awarded Archpriest Simon Kichakov rector of the Joy of All Who Sorrow parish, Geelong the right to wear the Jewelled Cross.

Approximately 500 faithful filled the Cathedral for the service and the choir lead by Andrei Laptev sang reverently.

Following the service, the Cathedral sisterhood provided a lunch for all those who were able to stay in the new extended church hall.
